sounds like you have the Office Viewers, which MS offers for free. if you don't want to pony up the $$$ for a real copy of MS Office 2007. You can go with it open source cousin that will do most everything Office will do.

you have to purchase it, and it ain't cheap
You need to have the software. It's a little pricey ($150 to be exact) and you can get it at any store with software ( wal mart, staples, best buy, etc)
