Its a suite of standard applications, Word Processor (Word), spreadsheet (Excel), Presentation (Powerpoint), E-mail (Outlook), desktop publisher and database (Access).

Access stores and retrieves data

Excel analyses it

Word, Powerpoint and publisher present it. Outlook sends it and spreads viruses.

Its not free. Its not bad but you probably won't use most of the features

Microsoft Office is a software that is used to edit text or design and ETC. Yes!! It is working on my PC
No, its programs such as Word, Powerpoint, ad Excel. The 'no' referred to it not being free, legally at least. Its meant for mainly data transfer, presenting info, and data collection.
Microsoft Office is an integrated software system that contains; the word processing software Word, the spreadsheet program Excel, the database software Access and the presentation software PowerPoint. All these programs can run independently or they can have their data transferred between the programs in Office to create business wide applications, from typing a letter to delivering a graphic presentation of complied data.

I have been using integrated software systems for about 20 years now and Office is the best I have used to date. It helps to have some formal training to use the system professionally (for work to impress your boss).
I use it only for correspondence, but know it has other capabilities. I just need instruction as I am not very knowledgeable of computer programs, etc.
MS Office includes a number of components - Word (wordprocessor), Excel (Spreadsheet) Outlook (email client) - there are other add ons such as Access (database) %26 various other things like Frontpage %26 Publisher.

No - it is very definitely NOT free!
