This is because, at the time of installing the software, it was specified "Install during first use" for many of the optional components that come with MS Office. If you go to Control Panel -%26gt; Add remove programms -%26gt; MS Office -%26gt; Add Remove Components, you will get a list of components. Those componets against which you see the icon with a "1" sign are the components you specified as "Install on First Use". If you used it at work then it can't be used on a second machine. You have to purchase a second license to use it at home. If you can't afford that, then you can try downloading OpenOffice. It's a free, open source office suite comparable to MS Office.

I apologise for telling you something which you probably already know but I think you are going to have trouble getting a code, since anyone who has the programme will already have used it. I can only offer the usual options, take it back to where you got it, make sure it is not in the obvious places, i.e. back of the envelope the disc came in or fallen down the back of the settee.

You're going to have to call guys over at Microsoft Support. Tell them what happened (same thing happened to me on more than one occasion). They're pretty good about it. Ask you what type of computer you have, where you bought the CD from, etc. Then they give you a new key.

The drawing toolbar is context sensitive (as are a lot of things in Office 2007)

I want to learn Microsoft Office.

I can use Word and Excel and other programs, but I am not proficient. I would say that my skill level is somewhere between Intermediate and Beginner. I can get by, but I would like to have SERIOUS skills so that I can say, "YES. I know how to do that. No problem."

I need a tutor or a class. I want to learn to do all from beginning to end.

BTW Although I have a job, I feel that I need to make myself more marketable for the FUTURE. I won't always get away with just knowing a small amount. I am really glad that you want to motivate your skills but in my company if someone doens't have the execptional level on basic computer programs - there is no start the job. These programs have been around for 20 years now. I love the go and get it done - and if you check with any schools in your area - both high schools and college - most will have adult classes that you can take that you don't have to be enrolled in full time to get into.

For others out there, if you are are 17-20 yrs old person there is no reason why you should not be able to do intermediate level work in Word, Excel, and Access. At least be able to use the help file and post information on the internet so that someone across the BIG POND is able to look it up and make decisions within a few minutes.

You mean to then be able to carry the flash drive and use those applications on any computer? No. Almost every piece of software must be installed on the computer. Files are put in the windows directory, modifications to the registry are made, etc.

Its more complicated than just folders, there are registry keys that need to be written, file type associations, etc. You need an installer. I believe iTunes is a free download. don't bother with those online sites. You have two ways... you can go to file - print, and in the small window where it says choose printer you can choose adobe pdf, it'll save it as a pdf and you can send that file.

Or you should have an adobe pdf icon on the upper left somewhere below the file-edit- etc. menus... its the same as printing to pdf... go there and it'll work too.

Don't worry you aren't actually printing anything, once you click print it'll save it.

No, MS Office is not bundled with XP Pro from Microsoft. You most likely purchased a machine from someone/place that already had Office installed.

My guess, based on what you've said, is either that when you installed the trial you somehow overwrote the orignal Office installation. Then the only way is to reinstall your orignal Office install.

EDIT : Office 2007 is great! Don't just toss it aside because formats won't work. If you want to make files work, just make sure they're not saved with a "x" at the end. Like .docx should be .doc.

As there is no such thing as Office 2006, go with the 2007. Real programs tend to run better then non-existence ones. (LOL)

If you already have 2003 (the last version) I would not spend the money to get the new one. There are not enough difference to justify the price. The only reason to go with 2007 is if you are running Windows Vista, as it is designed to work better with Vista.

2007 is also a memory and hard drive hog. If you are running an older PC (2 years or more old), go with 2003. The PC may not be powerful enough to properly handle 2007.

If you do not have 2003, and are running a new PC, then go with the 2007 as Microsoft will continue to support it for longer. Expect support for 2003 to end some time next year.

It will depend on the individual policies of the university- contact the registrar of your school. They are the people that deal with these issues. Usually this sort of certificate is dealt with in one of two ways. Either you get credit hours that don't count towards any particular requirement (like you had taken an elective) OR you get permission to skip ahead in your major class sequence without getting credit hours (my undergrad did this for qualifying AP scores). Usually you can't do both. But contact the registrar and see what they say, state schools often have slightly more liberal policies for granting credit than private schools.

Did you just have the 60 day trial version when you bought your computer? You will have to buy the upgrade to use it again, if you deleted it. OR, you could download the OpenOffice free program from www.openoffice.org. It will save in Microsoft word, export to pfd files, and a lot other formats. It works great for me, and a lot cheaper.

Nope, it won't get uninstalled when you unsinstall MS Office... it will remain as a .doc document (with a diff. icon), and you can still open them using Wordpad... and when you install MS Office again, all .doc files will be back to normal... good luck!

If you mean the 16 digit code that you can also get on the back of your CD cover, then open word/excel or any office application, click Help and the About Microsoft Word. You wil sind the prod id in a box there.

What happened was your computer probably upgraded your 2003 to 2007 therefore you should not have to worry, it probably deleted it with the installation of the new one. But if your still not sure go to this site it is for Microsoft Products only.
Go to Start - Settings - Control Panel - Add or Remove Programs - locate the Microsoft Office 2003 in the list and then click on it and then select Remove. Make sure you do not have it open when you do this and backup anything you need from there first. You may have to clean up the old icons on your desktop if it does not do it for you.

Save the .wpd document on your computer. Open up Word and then File/Open. Select the .wpd (make sure you select seeing All Files...) double click it - there will be a conversion from the WordPerfect format into Word. I'd save the document as a .doc.

Yep, Add/Remove Programs. Then, you may have to learn about what folders it occupied (like, down in Program Files), as "Uninstall" doesn't always do a perfect job of removing ALL the files occupied by pieces of software.

If you have 2007 at home and 2003 at school, when you save your work you'll notice beneath where you type the file's name, there's a dropdown box labelled "Save as type" or similar. I don't have office 2007 here as a reference, but do you see something like "Microsoft Office 97/2000/XP" in that list? Try choosing that when saving your files, and see if they're then readable at the school.

Note that if you resave an existing file, you'll get two copies, one in 2007 format and the other in the older 97/2000/XP/2003 format. It's best to delete one if you intend to keep the other, but open the old one first to make sure the layout hasn't been screwed up.

For Windows XP: I don't think so. The End User License Agreement (EULA) states that one copy of Windows (XP) is to be installed on one computer. If you wish to install Windows (XP) on another computer, you have to uninstall it from the first PC (unless you purchased some kind of license for installing on more than one PC).

...So, I don't think you can register a copy of Windows XP to 2 different computers.

For Microsoft Office: I don't know. Sorry. :(

Registration means uniqueness and this is done primarly to avoid piracy and get payment for every copy that has been used. Therefore you cannot register any software twice though permission may be given by that software to see that you do not suffer re-registration when your are forced to install the same software once again due to either software corruption or due to virus or simply because you have formatted your machine.

From what I've read about the tech capabilities of 2007 over 2003 there really isn't any difference.

Sure 2007 will have a few bells and whistles that are different but the overall program itself is 98% the same. From what I have read, it's simply not worth the money to upgrade or purchase a full up copy. If you have 2003 I'd say stick with it.

I have 2007 and 2000 and I've decided to simply keep using 2000 because it's compatible with all the older and newer versions. No so with 2007. It is not backward compatible beyond 2003.

Not only that but OpenOffice is a much cheaper (FREE) option and you get almost all the same capabilities tha MS Office offers.

Is Microsoft Word installed on the other pc? If it is is it an older version than the one you created the document in? It may be saved in a format that the older version doesn't recognise.
If the Vista PC has Office 2007 and the XP PC an earlier version of Office then the problem is because Office 2007 saves files in a different format.

It will always be up to date with actor info and much faster and easier to use. An advanced programmer could also make a combination with yahoo pipes, but that might be a bit too much for your case.

It really depends on what you're planning to do with the database and how much experience you have/can hire. If the database is mostly for personal use then MS Access is fine. It's easy to use, fairly quick and you can move it from computer to computer quite easily.

If you're planning to make the database publically accessible in some form or if you have a number of people who will need to access/update it at the same time then you'd be much better off with a database server like MySQL, SQL Server or Oracle. These are designed to work very fast, guarantee the integrity of the database and be accessed by (potentially) thousands of people at the same time. Microsoft Office is the same thing as suite. Depending upon which flavor you have you will have different programs in the suite.

Essentially the Pro version (at least 2003) comes with Excel, Word, Power Point, Access, Publisher amonst other stuff.

There are mulitple versions that contain various combinations of the Office applications. You can goto Microsoft Office Online and look at the different releases (e.g. 2002, 2003, 2007) and see the different flavors and what comes with each.
