What is the difference between microsoft office and suite and professional. ? Right for me?

Microsoft Office is the same thing as suite. Depending upon which flavor you have you will have different programs in the suite.

Essentially the Pro version (at least 2003) comes with Excel, Word, Power Point, Access, Publisher amonst other stuff.

There are mulitple versions that contain various combinations of the Office applications. You can goto Microsoft Office Online and look at the different releases (e.g. 2002, 2003, 2007) and see the different flavors and what comes with each.
