I just got Microsoft Frontpage XP today, and I need to know how to publish web-pages on it. It says I need a Web-Hosting server, but I don't know what those are. Please Help, I have Netscape, but I'm not sure if it is what I'm looking for, and if it is, how do I set it up to where I can publish web-pages?

U can only view powerpoint presentations with ur Microsoft Viewer. In order to make presentations, u need Powerpoint. U can go to www.microsoft.com and download Office 2007 trial version and make a presentation for the time being if ur in a hurry. whenever I log on or try to open word 2002, it always reads, "windows is trying to configure microsoft 2002" Then it reads "The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or removable disk that is not available" I click cancel and then an message pops up "Error 1706 setup can not find the required files. This was working just fine a few days ago, not this strange message keeps poping up. How do I fix this and keep this from happening again?

When it come up again, put the installation CD that you loaded from. It will access the files it needs and will stop giving you this error.

If this doesnt work, insert the Office XP cd and run the repair feature. Should correct the problem.

The only options I can think of end up eliminating the hidden data. It is weird that Excel only give you an option to copy column widths and not row heights, at least in my version (2000.)

If you have time to prepare in advance of the copy/paste, you can set up a blank sheet with all the proper hidden rows and when you paste in, the rows stay hidden. This doesn't help you if your hidden rows change from event to event. It is just changing when you go and hide your rows from after your paste to before your paste.

Can you arrange the data in columns instead of rows, do the paste operation and later select only visible, then copy and paste transpose. This still removes the hidden data, but you can keep the hidden properties in your column arranged section.

A note: I MS Access this can easily be accomplished with Filters, if your hidden data can be segregated by values in the data. Are you trying to put in a screw with a hammer?

Yes. Getting certified will always help you, but it's usually something to boost you after you've earned a degree. There are 2 year schools that offer various programs to help you be proficient in office programs on the computer, but if you don't have a degree (2 or 4 year) it won't help you much against someone who does. Yes even for administrative assistants it helps to have a degree, especially in a competitive job market.

If you are really looking to start a new career and you have not done a personality assessment I would do that first. Here is a free website that won't spam you where you can see what careers match your personality. It will even tell you what degrees to earn for that career and what schools have those degrees. Certification is not needed but being able to manoeuvre around MS Office (mostly Word and Excel) is considered standard these days. The more you know the more you can get done quickly and accurately.
The Quickbooks certification is a huge plus . . . not so much for MS Office.
I don't think that you can get "certified" in Microsoft office. You can take a class on it and just say "proficient with Microsoft products, etc." Why don't you just go to college?
As a matter of fact, I got my job by taking all the Microsoft classes on-line and got my certification. I love my job. I am working as a data entry clerk and am continously taking on-line classes. Currently, I am taking training in PowerPoint. Good luck.

If you already have experience, than these programs listed on your resume would likely move your resume closer to the top of the pile. I simply found good experience, good track record and good references got my foot in the door the best.

When I bought that same version, I did it online through a downloable distribution method. It came in the form of a simple setup executable, which I then burned to a disc to save as a backup.

Since you also have a legit copy, download the trial version, write down your CD Key/Seriel Number and burn that to a disc (toss the CD key in the case with it). Even though it's a trial, the valid key will unlock it and convert it to full.

It is one hundered percent legal to use Office on more that one machine. There should be no problem if you load both machines with the same program. You should also find no problem getting automatic updates as well.

Don't panic. You're still using 2000? Try getting something more recent. 2000 is almost a decade old; just move on to 2004 or 2007 if you can put up with all the crashing...
it has just combined few features but if u uninstall it the older version remains or if unless at the time of installing the new one it asked u to uninstall the other which i don think so coz i had the same story lately
If you opened documents created using Office-2000 and converted them to the Office-2007 format then you should still be able to read them but not amend them. Effectively once you have converted old documents you can't really use Office-2000 anymore, even if you re-install Office-2000, except as read-only documents.

I know of no way to do that but am not sure why you would want to since Office 2007 can read 2003 formats very well. If you are having trouble reading 2007 format files on 2003 and do not want to upgrade you can install the compatability pack which is listed on one of the replies below. This compatability pack works quite nicely. In a work environment you can also set your default save format to 2003 format when running 2007 until the majority of your group has upgraded. That prevents version conflicts, but you just have to forgo some of the new features of 2007 on shared documents until most folks have upgraded.
No. The new Word 2007 Format is well new. It wasn't around when 2003 came out. But you can still save 2007 as a Word 2003 or earlier.

The home retail version - only one computer, I'm afraid. The Home and Student edition allows you to install it on up to three pcs; but this edition doesn't include Outlook 2007 - they replaced it with OneNote 2007. Also you won't be able to update it to a newer version in future.

There is an alternative to paying Microsoft a fortune. You could download a free programme called Open Office. It is free, you can put it on as many computers as you like and I think it's as good as Office. It can save in it.s own file format or Word's doc format. So it's compatible with Office. You can't, you should have run an upgrade, this would have maintained any compatible software. (Office is compatible.)

You need to run the installer, as your programs saved from the old install will not include the library files from the system directories, and the registry will not have the 1000 plus settings correct to use Office.

i think Microsoft office 2007 is more compatible than microsoft office 2003 in windows vista, but you can try. if it doesn't work or created conflicts, well, maybe the office 2007 is the better one. if you like, try to download office 2003 part 1 and part 2 and extract them on your desktop then install.

I agree, 30 minutes is too long. I would check system requirements to make sure it will install and run. If you are running the minimum, be patient, be very patient. You are installing a hefty load on an older machine. Get some sleep and check it in the morning. If it's frozen, then turn off/on your machine, close some programs on your computer. It will need all the system resource's it can take to install.
30 minutes? That's not too horribly long, especially on an older machine. That, and it's office 2007 - that means the OS is newer, and will be dragging the system's speed down significantly!

Installing from CD is the slowest, a faster method will be from the hard drive, and maybe from the network. Either way, because of the system speed, it will still be quite slow.

In all honesty, I'd say to just let it set for a few hours. Just leave it alone, go do something else, and come back later. Hopefully it will either be all done, or it will have a dialog box asking for more info or telling you something.

I think you may find that you are using Excel for spreadsheets. If you are using Access you are working in a table.

So, if you are using Excel, as you type the same word in the same column it should automatically autotext it for you and put the word in assuming you want it, but if you didn't you just carry on typing.

If you really are using Access, then set the field as Look up and put in the list of words that will be going into that column so when you come to enter them in the datasheet, you just type the first letter or two and it comes in, or alternatively, click on the downward arrow which reveals the list you have typed in when designing.
