However I have a PC with the version of Office installed and I'm wondering if I can retrieve the information from this?
How can I find my product key for Microsoft Office? My laptop crashed and I do not have the key...?ducati
RM is correct - the only way to find the Office key is on the CD which you originally used to install it.
For everyone else who said something different, they are talking about something else - e.g. the laptop service tag, or whatever, not the Office key.

Cari and RM is wrong. Stupid newbies.
Apply a cracking-tool. (Legal on your own computer =)

The product key is on the case of the original cd that you used to install it. I think that's the only place it is, if you don't have that, the best thing to do is get onto customer care and follow their instructions.
PS - I looked at the sticker on the underside of my laptop - that's for windows xp on mine, I bought Office seperately and it has a different product key entirely.
PPS - Ditto with the number on the My computer, properties link. I think that's the product id, not the key.
the key should be underneath of laptop
do a search for rockxp. It will recover keys from currently installed microsoft software.
Turn the laptop over and you will see it beside the battery. It normally has a combination of 25 numbers and letters divided in to 5 sections
Your computer did NOT come with Office installed if you purchased the computer new. Therefore, you have the disk and key somewhere. IF you used someone else's copy, then it must be OFFICE 2000 or older, for OFFICE XP must be registered within 30 days of loading. Find your copy of Office and reload the program. The key is on the the CD cover. IF it is not, call Microsoft and tell them what has happened, they may give you a generic code to load your program with. Good luck
try one of the numbers on the Microsoft sticker that is on your computer
product key, look in my computer, properties, its the 20 charcter code
The product key for your laptop should be at the base of the laptop.
if not get in contact with the company that you bought the laptop from and they should help you.
hope that helps.
download belarc from belarc.com, is a free audit tool that gives you a print out of your system, it will also show programs installed and their product keys
Edit: This will truly work. Its a great tool to use to see everything about your computer and will give you a printout within a web browser. Under Software Licenses you will see your product key. Must be installed on a computer with the working Office.
u can search it on emule
emule is p2p software
my laptop has the windows code on a sticker underneath it - might be worth having a look there?
