Does anyone know if Microsoft Office 2007 is reliable? Is it better than its predecesors?

I have the 2000 Office and I want something better. I know from other users that Office 2003 is good, but I want opinions regarding the 2007 version.

Well, the final verdict is still out since Office 2007 has yet to make a primetime release, that is a consumer-ready version. But from what I've experience with the beta version, it is in many ways an improvement over earlier versions.

However, I believe there is still a lot of life left with Office XP and 2003 so there's really no compelling reason to jump the wagon unless your a giant corporation that needs to be always on the leading edge of technology. Personally, I won't be transitioning to Office 2007 until I deem the software is mature enough to be worth the cost and that won't happen with its first commercial release.

office is office, whther its 2000, xp, 2003, or 2007...they all have the same basic progams. each upgraded version adds some extra functions, buttons, and configureability to it along with some extra clipart and stuff. Go with what you can afford, if you can afford 2007, get it, if not go with xp or 2003 as now that theres a newer version you can get the previous version(s) cheaper.
