Is it possible to make a Microsoft Office Word 2007 file with Microsoft Office Word 2003?

Can you save directly a 2007 file from work 2003?

Not exactly. But if you save a 2003 file, you can open it with 2007 using this compatibility pack.

You can also save 2007 documents as 2003 format. Just go to Save As then it should say something about 2003 in there.

I know of no way to do that but am not sure why you would want to since Office 2007 can read 2003 formats very well. If you are having trouble reading 2007 format files on 2003 and do not want to upgrade you can install the compatability pack which is listed on one of the replies below. This compatability pack works quite nicely. In a work environment you can also set your default save format to 2003 format when running 2007 until the majority of your group has upgraded. That prevents version conflicts, but you just have to forgo some of the new features of 2007 on shared documents until most folks have upgraded.
No. The new Word 2007 Format is well new. It wasn't around when 2003 came out. But you can still save 2007 as a Word 2003 or earlier.
If someone has 2007, they can read the normal formatted word documents just fine.

A copy of Office 2003 for Windows cannot save into a newer format that I am aware. But why on Earth would you want to anyway?
