How do i change the cursor in microsoft office 2003?

i use to have the veritcal line that comes standard with microsoft office. Now if i click anywhere on the page, my cursor is just a period. I dont know how this happened but I want the standard one. Im talking about microsoft office 2003 only. Not my windows arrow cursor but the cursor that is a line when you are typing in office. Thanks

If this problem occurs in Word 2003, then try changing to 500% zoom and then back to your normal zoom.
