i bought Microsoft Office small business version for $ 279 last year with my laptop purchase. now i want to buy a new desktop. can i load the same MS Office from the DVD so i don't have to buy again %26 pay twice? will the computer accept it %26 is it legal?

The computer will probably accept it, but it's not legal.
It is one hundered percent legal to use Office on more that one machine. There should be no problem if you load both machines with the same program. You should also find no problem getting automatic updates as well.
